Discover the art of crafting the exquisite Sweet Pea flower, a bloom known for its vibrant colours and versatility in cake arrangements. This tutorial spans two sessions, guiding viewers through the meticulous process of creating buds, open buds, and full flowers, ensuring each detail captures the flower's natural beauty.
Make the buds by using one-third length 26 gauge wires and light green floral tape, create floral tape buds. Shape a no.6 size ball of paste around the bud, refining it into a 20mm cone. With the Companion Tool, mould the cone over a finger to achieve a beak shape. Produce five buds and set them aside to dry for 30 minutes.
For an open bud, prepare the Flower Pro Poppy Mould with white fat and the Sweet Pea Petal Converter Template. Press a no.6 size ball of paste into the mould, unveil its design with the Fan Veiner, and frill the edges. Attach this petal around a bud, forming an open bud shape. This step is repeated for the second open bud.
For the flower's wings, use the small wedge shape converter and repeat the open bud process. Attach these wings to a bud. The outer petal requires the largest petal converter and the medium Flower Pro Poppy Mould cavity. After moulding and frilling, attach this petal to the wings, bending the wire and shaping the petal. Allow to dry.
