In this video, the focus is on the creation of realistic succulent plants using the Flower Pro Ultimate Succulent mould. The process is broken down into three distinct sections, each dedicated to a different type of succulent: the spoon type, the elongated type, and the pointed type. The materials required, the step-by-step process, and the techniques to achieve a lifelike appearance are all explained.
The essential tools for this project include the Ultimate Succulent mould, flower paste or gum paste, flexi paste or air drying clay, a variety of dust colours, and wires of different gauges.
Begin by moulding the paste into the shape of the succulent leaves using the ultimate succulent mould. Depending on the type of succulent being created - spoon, elongated, or pointed - the moulding process will vary slightly.
Once the leaves are moulded, add colour using the dust colours. The colouring process involves brushing the dust onto the leaves to create a realistic appearance. For a pearlescent sheen, brush gently all over the leaves.
After the leaves are coloured, assemble them to form the succulent plant. This involves attaching the leaves to wires and arranging them in the shape of the succulent. Depending on the type of succulent, the leaves may need to be curled inwards or outwards. Once the succulent is assembled, steam it to give it a natural luster.
The finished succulents can be used as decorations on cakes and desserts. They can be attached directly to the dessert or placed on top using wires. The stem thickness can be adjusted to match the size of the succulent by adding more wires if necessary.
In the following videos, the creation of two more types of succulents will be explored, along with detailed instructions on how to use the succulents on cakes and desserts. This comprehensive guide provides all the information needed to create stunning, lifelike succulents for any occasion.
