Welcome to this instructional video on creating intricate floral designs using the Katy Sue Designs Flower Pro Ultimate filler flower mould. This unique mould is versatile and can be used to create a variety of flowers. This guide will focus on the creation of bell flowers, specifically the Lily of the Valley.

To begin, prepare the buds and wires for both the flowers and the buds. Start with a quarter-inch floral tape, cut using a tape cutter. Alternatively, a pair of scissors can be used. The goal is to achieve very thin floral tape to avoid adding unnecessary bulk to the wire. Use a three-gauge wire and apply a little cornflour or cornstarch on the fingers to handle the floral tape.

The floral tape is used to cover the wire to ensure a uniform colour, especially for flowers like the Lily of the Valley where the bell comes from the side of the flower. Once the wire is covered, cut it to seven inches long using a pair of scissors or wire cutters. The wire can then be cut into thirds to create short pieces.

Next, create a tiny hook at the end of the wire using a pair of tweezers. This is process is expedited by taking about three wires at a time and making small hooks on them. The hooks should be about one centimetre down the tweezers.

To prepare the buds, use the size guide and create balls of paste using number three small and number four small sizes. Condition the paste with a bit of white vegetable fat and vegetable shortening. Roll the conditioned paste into a tiny ball and attach it to the wire using a little egg white.

For the flower part, use the smaller of the two cavities in the mould. Take a number six small size ball of paste, condition it, and roll it into a tiny sausage. Press this into the cavity of the mould and use a cosmetic sponge to ensure it is well packed. Trim off the excess paste using a plastic scraper.

Once the flower is formed, hollow the bell using a ball tool and cup each of the petals to give the characteristic shape of the Lily of the Valley. Thread a hooked wire through the centre of the flower and secure it with a small piece of paste.

After the flowers and buds have dried, they can be assembled. Start with the smallest buds and attach them to the wire using floral tape. Alternate the direction of the buds as they are added to the wire. Once all the flowers are in place, continue down the wire with half-width tape for easier handling.

For colouring, use white pearl dust on all the flowers and buds, except the smallest buds which should be dusted green. Add a bit of green around the base of the flowers for a natural look. Once coloured, the flowers can be steamed to give them a waxy look.
