Craft a Delightful Easter Bunny Decoration

STEP 1: Sculpting Your Bunny – Begin by preparing your Easter Bunny Mould. A light dusting of cornflour inside the mould ensures that your clay doesn't stick. Gently tap out any excess cornflour before pressing your colour choice of Hearty Air Drying Clay into the mould. Flatten the back of the mould against a hard surface to ensure a smooth finish and ease the bunny out by gently flexing the mould.
Now, personalize your bunny's posture. You might tilt its head or use scissors to delicately free an arm for repositioning. Be cautious to preserve the fur's texture during this process; any lost details can be redefined with a sculpting tool. Leave the bunny to dry before attaching the ears, which you can texture with a sugar craft tool or a textured material like sponge or crepe paper. Attach the ears with a strong adhesive and adjust them to convey your bunny's unique expression.

STEP 2: Creating Easter Eggs and Flowers – Use the same mould to fashion Easter eggs and flowers in a spectrum of colours. To form whole eggs, glue two halves together immediately after moulding to ensure uniform drying. Smooth any seams carefully to maintain the egg's shape. Accentuate the eggs with coloured clay for intricate designs, and set these along with the flowers aside to dry.

STEP 3: Crafting the Base – Prepare the Medium Log Slice Mould with a dusting of cornflour. Mix a lighter shade of brown clay to fill the mould, creating a natural base for your scene. Ensure a flat reverse side by pressing and peeling the clay from the mould's edges. Allow the base to dry overnight.

STEP 4: The Fairy Door – Dust the Fairy Door Mould with cornflour before filling it with green clay, adjusting the moisture content for ease of handling. Carefully remove the door and leave it to dry, along with a separately moulded clay door handle.

STEP 5: Weaving the Basket – Fashion a small basket shape, texturing the clay with hessian fabric or the Rattan Basket Weave Mould. Gently release the basket and nestle the dried eggs inside, using a dab of glue to secure them if necessary.

STEP 6: Painting Your Bunny – Bring your bunny to life with acrylic paints in soft shades. Mix pink and white for the inner ears and nose, applying colour sparingly to highlight fur textures and facial features. Use fine brushes and toothpicks for detailed areas like the eyes and nose.

STEP 7: Decorating Eggs, Flowers, and Base – Decorate your eggs and flowers with fine brushwork, adding stripes or dots for embellishment. Apply layers of paint to the log slice to emphasize texture and detail, enhancing its natural look.

STEP 8: Detailing the Door – Paint the fairy door using a combination of acrylic and watercolour paints to achieve depth and texture. Highlight the wood grain and add metallic touches to the hinges and handle for a magical effect.

STEP 9: Assembling the Scene – With all elements dry, assemble your Easter scene. Use adhesive and toothpicks for structural support, arranging the bunny, eggs, and door on the log slice base. Creatively place the eggs to mimic an Easter egg hunt.

STEP 10: Final Touches – Add finishing touches with Flower Soft® for a grassy texture and glue down the clay flowers. A tiny bow made from Yellow Hearty Air Drying Clay and the Bow Trio Mould atop the door frame adds a festive flair.
