Cats & Dogs Frame Tutorial

Cats & Dogs Frame Tutorial

Follow this step by step guide by design team member Shabneez Khan-Muztar and make this beautiful frame featuring embellishments, toppers and sentiments from our NEW Cats & Dogs Paper Craft Pad!

This gorgeous frame would make an ideal gift for any pet lover, or as a keepsake in honour of your own furry friend.

What you’ll need:

  • Gloss spray
  • Cream cardstock
  • Adhesive
  • Glue gun
  • Craft knife
  • Scissors
  • Paper trimmer
  • Score board

Instructions:

STEP 1

Begin by making the clay elements as they will require time to dry – overnight is best.  Make leaves and flowers using the Stitched Pretty Petals and Stitched Leaves moulds together with the Hearty Soft White clay.

STEP 2

Once dry, spray all your elements with gloss spray.  Shabneez sprayed in a box as it can be a little messy!  Add a dot of yellow to the flower centres by opening up the with spray applicator and using it as to dab it on.  Leave to air dry – it doesn’t take very long.

STEP 3

Take the medium size Tangled Flower MDF shape and stick on to a sheet of paper from the Cats & Dogs Paper Craft Pad.  Use a craft knife or fine tip scissors to cut away the excess paper.  Repeat the process with the smallest Tangled Flower MDF shape.

STEP 4

Fussy cut images from the Cats & Dogs Paper Craft Pad, arrange them where you want and stick them with foam pads to give some height.

STEP 5

Use a hot glue gun to stick one frame to the other and adhere the flowers and leaves.

STEP 6

To make the stand for the frame, take a sheet of thick cream card 21cm x 10cm. Score at 1.5cm, 8cm, 10cm, 12cm and 19cm along the long side.

STEP 7

Fold the centre of the card into a valley, mountain then valley fold.

STEP 8

Stick the stand on the back of your frame with a hot glue gun and fold the score lines.

And there you go, a finished frame featuring the most adorable little dog! Make sure to share your creations on our Facebook group, we'd love to see your own makes using our new craft pad!
