Start your card by folding your pop up insert into place. Using the pre-scored lines and the above images as a guide (there are two pop up styles in this kit), start by folding each pop out piece into place. Once you’ve folded along each score line and are happy with the positioning of your pop out panels, fold your insert completely flat ready to glue inside the matching single-fold card. For little hands, you may need an adult to help you with this step.

Take your single-fold card and fold along the prescored line. Next, position the pop up insert inside and make sure it’s the correct way up. You can check by holding the card open, when you fold the card closed you should see the front design of your card. Add a thin line of tacky glue to the outer edges of your single-fold card, then secure your insert in place. Fold flat and then open the card up to check your card opens and closes ok, you may need to adjust your positioning whilst the glue is still tacky.

Once your insert is dried and secure, you can add your characters and decorations to the inside of your card. Pop out your characters and elements from your sheet and add to the pop up panels of your insert with tacky glue. Using the above image as a guide, attach the background elements to the central pop up panels, then add your characters/objects to the left and right pop up panels - make sure to position them at the bottom so they are touching the ‘floor’. Whilst the glue is still tacky, check that none of your characters are poking out when you fold the card closed.

Now you can move onto decorating the outside of your pop up card. We’ve got the creativity started with our printed designs, so you can build on the design with the sentiments and embellishments included on your character sheets. There are no set rules with this step, you can pick and choose whichever cut-outs you like, simply pop out and glue in place!
