We're currently looking for a Katy Sue Designs Product Manager. This is a brand new management role that gives the right candidate the chance to work directly for our CEO, Sue Balfour, and join the Katy Sue team at this exciting growth and development stage for the business. 

About Us
We make the products that creative people use and export them to over 50 countries.
Based in South Shields within walking distance of the Metro we have manufacturing, product development, offices, graphics and a TV studio all on site.
This new management role offers the chance to work directly for our CEO, managing the award winning product development team at Katy Sue Designs. You will be joining the company in a period of rapid growth and exciting strategic planning that will take our international group of companies on to the next level.

Would suit a highly motivated and experienced executive, who has ideally worked either as a consumer goods buyer/marketer, or in a management role within an agency environment.

Job Description
In a new role for the company you will be reporting directly to the Founder and CEO as head of our product development teams, your role will be vital to achieving the high-growth revenue targets the company has set.

The Product Manager is responsible for managing the product development cycle including prototypes, costings, samples, as well as organising related collateral for marketing, ultimately ensuring the success of every product launch. You will manage communications and specification documents related to products between the marketing, sales, production planning and product departments ensuring each launch project runs on time.

 

You will:
As a member of the senior management team, you will be completely responsible for the building of the product ranges, from concept through to prototyping and production.

Ensure that internal/external communication documents are accurate with the full information required for the wider business

Maintain awareness of the commercial elements of product development.

Manage internal/external meetings with various stakeholders to ensure smooth running of the team.

Overall management of pricing and price lists.

Arrange with in house the photography of samples as needed

Manage the design and influencer teams ensuring pre-launch samples are sent out to our influencer teams with detailed deadline information

Assist with product certification where necessary

 

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
Highly motivated individual, looking to make an important long term career move.

Experience of managing creative teams and bringing the very best from local and remote workers.

Enjoy a very fast paced environment where products launch most weeks.

Organised and efficient, able to multi-task and prioritise according to the business’s needs.

Be proficient in excel and able to understand the commercial impact of costings, targets and margins.

Attention to detail and close attention to visual details.

Excellent written skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing and in person.

Good personal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organisation levels – including international teams.

Ability to work effectively and lead a team under pressure and to tight deadlines

Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.

 

Education and Experience:
Degree in product, marketing or a related field
and
5 years of management experience in the consumer goods industry
